This morning Michael looked at me as if he just had the greatest epiphany of his life and said, “You know what I just realized? Girls are really just like an algorithm. They’re always changing and just as soon as you feel like you’ve figured them out, they change again!” 😂

I’ll take this as my sign I need to stop talking about algorithms... and maybe that I have multiple personalities?? 😜

Sometimes my mind plays tricks me. It asks, “Don’t you miss your old body? Don’t you miss that constant outward praise for how ‘fit’ and ‘toned’ you were? The styles you could ‘pull off’ that you can’t now?”
.
To which I reply to my body: “Are you willing to trade your happiness for THAT? Do you want to go back to filling your headspace with calories and numbers instead of exciting, joyful, creative thoughts? Does the outward praise REALLY even matter if it’s coming from strangers and deep down you’re feeling intense isolation and anxiety? Would you really rather fit into a pair of jeans than have the mental clarity you have now?”
.
I think the answer is an obvious one. It’s simply not worth it.
.
So when I have bad body image days I always remind myself that the body I once had wasn’t worth the price. It cost me my happiness, and that’s not something I’m willing to trade or lose.
