ever since I can remember i’ve had a fear of hosting… like an intense fear.
i didn’t want to have friends to my house when i was little because i was self-conscious it wouldn’t be “good” enough, fun enough, whatever enough. i would just go to their house instead… and this carried into adult-hood.
well, about a month ago, i faced my fears.
michael and i hosted some friends to watch football at our place… and guess what? i actually LOVED doing.
it’s crazy how we can convince ourselves we’re one way when in reality we aren’t. we tell ourselves over and over again something until we believe it/become it. even if it’s not true, we put ourselves in this box.
anywho… I’ve been a fan of baked sweet potato fries for a longggg time. I order them pretty much anytime they’re available when we go out to eat. I realized there wasn’t a recipe on my site and had to change that!
You all know I’m super particular about the ingredients in my food, so when I see strange things in the pre-packaged sweet potato fries at the grocery store im like ehhhh no thanks.
This recipe has only THREE ingredients:
& Chipotle Seasoning
THATS IT! And that’s the way it should be, in my opinion 🙂
They’re so simple to make that I felt a little silly writing this up, but the steps I take truly make for the crispiest baked sweet potato fries EVER.

I dipped mine in LOTS of ketchup and served them alongside a veggie burger. Made for the easiest and yummiest dinner!
HOW TO: preheat oven to 425F. wash + scrub sweet potatoes and chop into desired shape/size. place in a bowl and toss with a little avocado oil + seasonings of your choice. place on a NON greased baking sheet with space to breath in between so they get nice and crisp. bake for 10ish minutes, take them out and flip them. place back in the oven for 10-15 minutes (checking on them around 10 minutes depending on your oven). for extra crispy fries, broil for the last 3ish minutes!
I rarely measure the oil/seasonings when I make these since it’s truly easiest to eyeball it. You want the sweet potatoes lightly coated with oil but not swimming in it. You will also season as desired, so take my measurements on the seasoning with a grain of salt 😉
