For reference, my son is 20 months old. He will be 2 at the end of March and these are his favorite toys at the moment. He is obsessed with everything on this list and these gifts have a wide price range so you are sure to find something you love!

Magnatiles

My son is OBSESSED with magnatiles so they had to go at the top of this list for 1-2 year olds! He will play with them for hours and they are the first thing he reaches for in his play room (or anytime they are in eye shot!)

Cutting Play Food

This cutting play food is on his christmas wish list and I’m so excited to see what he thinks! I’ve heard 1-2 year olds love it!

Scooter

Isaiah is always stealing his friends scooters at the park so I can’t wait for him to have his very own. This one got amazing reviews from friends and online. It is a great scooter that will grow with your 1-2 year old for many years beyond toddlerhood!

Mini Trampoline

I am always looking for ways to wear out my 1-year-old and I’ve had my eye on this mini trampoline for a while. Now that it’s cold outside and dark super early, it was the perfect gift to purchase for him to get his energy out indoors.

Nugget Couch

I have included this in just about every gift guide I’ve made for toddlers and babies! The Nugget couch is a game changer and absolutely worth the money!

Wooden Wobble Balance Board

I am SO excited for this gift to arrive for Isaiah. It’s a wooden board that can serve as a slide, balance board, ramp, rocker, and so much more. 1-2 year olds can really use their imagination with this one!

Tonie Box

A tonie box was new to me this year and I love the concept. It’s a little box that plays music and stories. Tonie boxes make great gifts for 1-2 year olds because they don’t have screens or are overstimulating but provide great entertainment.

Tiny Land Wooden Train Set

Isaiah is getting this train set for christmas and I can’t wait to see what he thinks. He currently uses his magnatiles to make a track for his cars, so this will be the perfect gift!

Dyson Vacuum

My 1 year old is always trying to take our brooms and vacuums so I love this toddler Dyson vacuum that is just his size! Bonus: it actually works so he will really be helping me out.

Aqua Water Doddle Mat

Isaiah has recently been loving his color wonder mess-free markers and his drawing tablet, so I just know he will love this aqua water doodle mat as well! It’s HUGE so your toddler won’t run out of space to doodle!

Color Wonder Mess Free Markers and Color Wonder Paper

We tape a couple of peices of this color wonder paper onto our kitchen counter and let him climb onto his stool to color. It’s such a great activity because it allows me to be doing something else at the kitchen counter while he draws! I usually meal prep while he colors and it’s super convenient that the colors don’t get on any fabric or walls!

Drawing Tablet Doodle Board

This drawing tablet is one of my 1-year-olds favorite toys at the moment. It’s so simple but he is obsessed. He loves to sit in my lap and tell me what to draw. He also likes to doodle on it himself and knows how to clear the board.

Play Doh

I have a serious love/hate relationship with play-doh. It keeps my 1 year old distracted for a LONG time, but it is also super messy and can get all over the couch, floor, chairs, etc. if he doesn’t keep contained in his stool. BUT – overall I do love it. Especially when I have the time to sit with him and show him how to make shapes and cut out different shapes!

Water Table

We got this water table as a birthday gift for his first birthday and he still loves it! When the weather gets cool, I like to fill it with oats or sand. We use it year-round! Water tables make such good gifts for 1-2 year olds.

Mega Blocks

Mega blocks are the perfect gift for 1-2 year olds becuase they are the perfect size! You don’t have to worry about choking as the blocks are too large to swallow. My toddler loves them!

Bath Toys

Bath toys are always a great gift idea for toddlers becuase they take a bath every night and it can get repetitive and boring (for both the baby and parents!) I love all of these bath toys for 1-2 year olds and they are also super affordable for gift giving!

Climbing Toys

Climbing toys are always great gifts for 1-2 year olds because they have so much energy they need to get out!! When it’s cold or rainy outside, these climbing toys are a great way to burn up some energy.

Gifts under $30

These gifts make for great stocking stuffers or budget-friendly gifts for friends!

Puzzles

Puzzles are a great gift for toddlers to practice cognitive and fine motor skills. I love having quiet activities like puzzles to do with my 1 year old before nap time.

Shoes

You can never go wrong with gifting shoes to a 1-2 year old as they go through them like crazy! I love these slip-on shoes for Isaiah because they work great as water shoes in the summer, but also can be worn with socks in the cooler months. These air force 1s are on his wish list for Christmas!

Magnets

Magnets are another awesome activity for your baby or toddler to practice fine motor skills. I love keeping them in the kitchen so he has something to keep him busy while I cook or do chores.

Play Kitchen

A play kitchen is a great gift for a 1-2 year old to start to pretend play! I love watching my toddler use his imagination. There are a lot of play kitchen sets to choose from, but this one is especially nice because it fits in the corner of the room, has lots of storage, and has appliances that make real life noises and is interactive.

Balance Bike

This is the perfect gift for a toddler to practice learning to ride a bike! I love this one in particular because it can have 4 wheels to start and removable wheels for when you are ready to have just 2 wheels. You also can’t go wrong with a strider balance bike!

What are your must have gifts for 1-2 year olds!? I’d love to know in the comments below!
