Nothing takes me back to my childhood quite like french toast sticks. Anyone else? Whether you were having them at the school cafeteria, a friend’s house, or pulling a box from your freezer on the weekends, they always hit the spot!

Unfortunately, most store-bought french toast sticks are loaded with high-fructose corn syrup and other unnecessary ingredients.

These air fryer french toast sticks are made with delicious brioche bread and hit the spot with no additives or preservatives. Your kids won’t even know they’re healthy!

What is the best bread for making french toast?

French toast can be made with all sorts of bread, but brioche is my personal favorite because you can taste the richness of the bread with every bit!

Brioche is nice and thick while also soaking up the perfect amount of egg. You don’t want to use a bread that is going to fall apart when you soak it in the egg mixture!

Other popular bread for making french toast sticks:

  • Challah
  • Sourdough
  • Potato Bread
  • Baguette

Can I freeze leftover french toast for later?

Yep! This recipe, in particular, is great for freezing and serving throughout the week.

To freeze, let the sticks cool slightly and place them on a baking sheet. Transfer the baking sheet to the freezer and allow them to freeze for 1-2 hours. Once frozen, transfer the cinnamon toast sticks to a freezer bag for easy storage.
