Healthy Baked Banana Bread Donuts are moist, fluffy and loaded with chocolate chunks. Enjoy this healthy twist on a classic donut for breakfast, a snack or dessert. Ready in 30 minutes!
If I’m being completely honest, I’ve never been a huge donut-lover. Donuts taste like I’m biting into sugar air, and they never really tempted me. EXCEPT the donuts that lean towards are the cakey, fluffy and muffin-y type donuts.
I remember trying a blueberry cake donut for the first time in college and being like, “OK. Now, THIS I can get down with.”
If you’ve been following my Instagram or blog for any amount of time, it’s pretty apparent I’m no stranger to banana bread. I have recipes for Cinnamon Crunch Banana Bread, Sweet Potato Banana Bread, and Whole Wheat Apple Cinnamon Banana Bread. I thought it was time to make some baked banana bread donuts!
I love making individual versions of recipes. Partially because it’s harder for me to go overboard, but mostly because I’m not good at sharing — ha!
When Michael and I go out to eat we can’t share food. I feel like I have to rush to finish my half before he takes it! I also grew up having to hide my food from my brothers and sister (I’m one of seven kids.) so this also created a scarcity mindset around food haha.
These Baked Banana Bread Donuts are moist, fluffy and loaded with chocolate chunks. I also used half whole wheat flour and clean ingredients to keep them on the healthier side.
