Woodland Theme Nursery Tour | Boy Nursery Idea!

I hope you enjoy this woodland theme nursery I designed for Isaiah’s room! I love this nursery theme idea for a baby boy and I hope you do, too!

As soon as I found out we were having a baby boy, I knew I wanted to design a woodland themed nursery for him.

I’m obsessed with nature, trees, hiking, and the outdoors so it just seemed fitting! I also loved the color scheme of dark greens and earthy tones.

Each detail is so special to me because it was either hand-made or a thoughtful gift from a loved one.

My mom hand-knitted the blue blanket in his crib, Michaels mom gifted us the Isaiah James sign from a small Etsy shop, I hand-painted his accent wall and the woodland creatures over his bed, his bookcase is filled with books from friends and family with signed messages, and his drawers are full of diapers, clothes, bibs, swaddles, and more from loved ones.

He is beyond spoiled and has no idea how loved he already is.

OK, onto the nursery tour!

The first purchase I made was this super affordable crib from amazon. We were looking into an IKEA crib, but after the price of shipping and the time it would take to get here, it made more sense to purchase this one.

I found these adorable woodland theme crib sheets on amazon as well and they are SO SOFT! I also purchased some simple gray crib sheets as well because I know we are going to need a lot and I don’t want to get stuck waiting on laundry!

Hanging over his crib are four little woodland creatures that I painted. I saw prints for them on Etsy and decided to try my hand at painting them. If I didn’t like the way they turned out then I would just find something else, but I ended up really liking them!

I also painted his accent wall. There is a video over on my YouTube channel where I break down exactly how I did it. This was a $20 project and only took 45ish minutes to paint! I got the design pattern idea from a stick-on wallpaper I found online. I love the fact it’s not “perfect”. It makes it feel more woodland to me.

We purchased this dresser to go along with the crib from Amazon.

I love the look of it; however, I don’t think I can recommend it to anyone because the drawers are a little finicky! It’s the perfect size for our room, and because Michael spent a long (grueling) time building it, it will stay. 🙂

We already had this white bookshelf and y’all, I went back and forth on whether or not I wanted to keep it in here for the LONGEST time. I ended up decorating it in a way I now LOVE.

I added books from his woodland themed baby shower (we got books signed with messages from friends and family instead of cards and I thought it was the sweetest touch!!), this black basket from the magnolia section in Target, his “Little Man Cave” sign from Hobby Lobby, and some shoes we got as hand-me-downs as well as a pair of Michaels old boots!

I also added an accordion hanger above to hang some onesies. The exact one I found at hobby lobby, but here is a similar one!

To the left of his bookshelf, I added a fake plant and on the right, I bought this basket off amazon. We were originally going to use the basket for his laundry, but after moving things around ten million times, I decided this was the perfect spot for it. We will use it for blankets and toys instead. 🙂

The last major purchase we made for his nursery was this swivel recliner. I found it on Amazon and it had tons of awesome reviews. I really wanted one that would rock, recline, and swivel. This does all of the above, is super comfy, and really affordable!

We already own a lamp really similar to the one I bought for Isaiah’s nursery, but this one is the BEST because it turns on from overhead vs. a switch on the cord or on the ground. The one in our room is super annoying because you have to step on a button to make it turn on, and it’s never in a convenient place!

Isaiah’s emerald green rug was one of the last purchases I made for his woodland nursery. It’s the perfect size and color green! I love that it’s dark yet bright all at the same time. It was also on sale for around $55 when I found it so I snagged it REAL quick. It comes in a ton of different sizes and colors. Definitely recommend!!

On top of Zay’s dresser is a changing tray I actually bought off Facebook Marketplace! I always forget to look there, but I was selling a set of my own bedside tables so decided to browse around. I had already bought the changing pad and these cute changing pad sheets, but something about it looked incomplete without the tray. I got it for $20 and it had never been used! To the left of his dresser is a pretty big fake plant. I got this one for 50% off at Hobby Lobby, so it was less than $60! The basket was also on sale for around $12. Hobby Lobby is one of my favorite places to find decor.

To the right of his dresser is actually Michael and I’s laundry hamper haha. I told Michael that he and I are going to need to get a new one because it’s too perfect for Zay’s room.

His closet is still a work in progress, but I did find these bins to store some of his clothes in that are perfect. We also bought a huge pack of hangers that I’m sure will come in handy!
