This is my favorite quick and easy way to prepare super crispy cauliflower gnocchi! Air fryer cauliflower gnocchi is a quick and easy dinner the whole family will love. Serve with pesto, red sauce, or dip in cheese sauce as an appetizer.

If you haven’t tried cauliflower gnocchi yet you are definitely missing out! It was originally sold and created by Trader Joe’s, but now a few other brands have picked up on the trend like Green Giant.

What do you need to make air fryer cauliflower gnocchi?

Today we are using Trader Joe’s brand of gnocchi. It is my personal favorite. All you need is a store-bought bag of gnocchi and an Air-fryer. I own this air fryer and it’s been great! Very affordable and works well. Be sure to grab some air fryer parchment liners as well for easy clean-up!

How do you cook cauliflower gnocchi in the air fryer?

Air frying is one of my favorite ways to cook frozen cauliflower gnocchi. Not only is it quick and easy, but it also creates a crispy exterior that can add texture to dishes or make gnocchi a great snack on its own.

  1. Pour the frozen gnocchi in a microwave safe bowl. Microwave for 30 seconds, then toss and heat another 45 seconds until they are thawed all the way through.
  2. Place your cauliflower gnocchi in the air fryer basket and lightly spray with cooking oil.
  3. Fry at 390F for 13-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
  4. Serve as a main dish, as a side dish, or an appetizer!

Should you flip the gnocchi halfway through cooking?

Flipping is not necessary if you aren’t crowding the frying basket too much. If you are making a bigger batch, you can shake halfway through frying.

What is cauliflower gnocchi made of?

Trader Joe’s Cauliflower Gnocchi is made with very minimal ingredients, mainly being cauliflower and cassava flour. It is healthier than the traditional gnocchi since it’s basically only made with vegetables.

The full ingredient list reads cauliflower, cassava flour, potato starch, extra vigin olive oil, and sea salt. There is no gluten, eggs, or dairy.

How many calories is cauliflower gnocchi?

One bag of Trader Joe’s cauliflower gnocchi has 330 calories. One serving (140g) has 140 calories.

One bag contains 5g of protein, 15g of fiber, and 1.5g of saturated fat. It is high in sodium with 1110g per bag. It also contains 53g of carbs.

Is cauliflower gnocchi actually healthy?

Everyone’s definition of “healthy” is different, but I consider cauliflower gnocchi to be healthy because it is made of whole food ingredients, is high in fiber, low in saturated fat, and can be paired with high-protein foods like eggs, chicken sausage, or salmon to make a complete meal!

If you are watching your sodium intake, it is not the best option.

My favorite ways to serve air fryer cauliflower gnocchi:

  • Tossed in pesto and sprinkled with parmesan
  • Tossed in red sauce with goat cheese and dried oregano – similar to how I make this goat cheese pasta!
  • Tossed in butternut squash “cheese” sauce
  • Sprinkled with salt and pepper and served with eggs. SO good dipped in runny yolk!
  • As a base for a healthier breakfast hash with scrambled eggs and avocado on top

Do you have to air fry gnocchi?

You definitely don’t have to air fry the gnocchi. I also toss it on a hot pan with some cooking oil to pan fry it. But whatever you do, do NOT follow the instructions on the trader joe’s bag. Your gnocchi will end up soggy if you do!
