Dads are always the hardest to shop for in my opinion, but because I have a full list of gifts for new moms, I thought a list of gifts for expecting dads was definitely necessary!

The Best Gifts for Expecting Dads (That He Will Actually Use!)

Diaper Bag

A diaper bag is essential for every dad-to-be! This one has amazing reviews and comes in tons of colors. I love that Michael and I each have a diaper bag we can keep in our seperate cars. It definitely saves us time when we are running out of the house at the last minute!

Baby Carrier

I was gifted two baby carriers at my baby shower and I’m so glad that was the case becuase my husband primarily used this one. It’s heavy duty and grows with them for years! We still use it with our 18-month-old. I 100% recommend gifting this to any and every expecting dad!

Car Seat Base

You really don’t need two car seats (in my opinion), you just need two car seat bases! This is super convenient so that both mom and dad can easily transfer the car seat to whover is the primary caretaker that day.

We only had one car seat until Isaiah was about 14 months old. We got the Graco 4Ever Extend 2 Fit (but keep him rear-facing) so that we could move the uppababy to Michaels’s car and each have a car seat.

Car Seat Protecter

Car seats (and baby) can definitely cause a good bit of damage to your car so I recommend getting a car seat protector before strapping it in! If the dad-to-be in your life is a car guru, he will very much appreciate this gift!

Travel Stroller

A travel stroller is a great gift for expecting dads because they can keep it in their car at all times and it doesn’t take up much space at all! It’s always nice to be prepared for when you are out and about with the kids.

We have this travel stroller and love it! It’s under $90 and is so easy to set up/break down. I keep it in my car at all times because it takes up almost no space (unlike our uppababy).

This one on amazon has 11,000+ reviews and is under $100 which is great. Travel strollers are mostly designed for babies that are 6+ months old, or are sitting up unassisted. I still think this is a great gift because those first months go by QUICK and you’ll be using it a lot sooner than you think.

Jogging Stroller

A jogging stroller is a perfect gift for expecting dads who love to run or be outdoors! Some jogging strollers are a pretty penny (like this highly praised one!), but there are also some very affordable ones like this one on amazon with tons of amazing reviews.

Ember Mug

Moms aren’t the only ones who are sleep deprived with a new baby! Gift the expecting dad in your life one of these temperature controlled mugs so his coffee never gets cold and he can stay properly caffeinated to take care of his little one.

Duffle Bag

When I was writing my post on what to pack in your hospital bag, I realized my husband didn’t own a nice, durable duffle bag! He only had a gym bag so I got him this duffle bag to use. It’s the perfect size for a carry-on and is waterproof. It’s durable but also pretty! A must-add to this list of gifts for expecting dads.

Home Security System

If the dad in your life is anything like mine, he has become EXTRA protective since having a baby. A home security system is a perfect gift! Michael travels a good bit so having a home security system is a win for everyone involved.

If you don’t need a whole security system, you could also gift him a ring doorbell instead!

Portable Sound Machine

I have written about this dang portable sound machine more times than you can imagine, but that’s just how amazing it is!! I keep one in my car, Michael’s car, and the stroller at ALL times. It’s a game changer for baby’s sleep.

Leather Dopp Kit

This leather Dopp kit is the perfect gift for expecting dads to throw in their hospital bag, duffle bag for trips, or keep everything organized in the bathroom! If you want a handsome and grown-up piece of your travel kit, this is the one.

Air Pods

Loungewear is a MUST for all new parents. You are sleep deprived, confused, and running on adrenaline. Comfy clothes is essential! These are Michael’s all-time favorite joggers that he lives in.

Waffle Robe

Who doesn’t love a good robe? I know how obsessed I am with my (several) robes that I own, but I realized not that many men think to purchase robes!? I had to add this waffle robe to my list of gifts for expecting dads. Bonus points he most likely doesn’t already own one AND it’s under $27!

Ugg Slippers

Slippers are always a good idea but these ugg slippers are next level! Uggs are hard to beat when it comes to that comfy-cozy feel. Gift the expecting dad in your life a pair of these so he’s less bent out of shape when he’s waking up at 4 AM to change dirty diapers 😉

Whether it’s an air fryer, crockpot, instant pot, nespresso machine, or coffee pot, cooking appliances are always a fun gift for the dad who likes to be in the kitchen. Michael isn’t much of a chef, but early on in fatherhood he wanted to learn how to prepare a few dinners to either A.) Help me out because I was busy with Isaiah, or B.) To allow me to rest since I do most of the cooking around here.
