Trader Joes Haul- Must Have Groceries from Trader Joes
I hope you enjoy this in-depth Healthy Trader Joes Grocery Haul! These are my Trader Joe’s must-haves for 2020. In this post, I not only share my favorite healthy trader joe’s products but my favorite, easy Trader Joe’s meals and healthy snacks to make with them. We tackle pantry staples, fridge goodies, and freezer finds.
Trader Joes is one of my favorite places to shop! I get DMs all the time on Insta asking me where I get my ingredients, so I just wanted to show up some of my favorite Trader Joe’s staples.
I also made a Youtube video, so don’t forget to watch that and be sure to subscribe!
As you can see below my cart was FULL!
Trader Joes Haul – Pantry Staples
Organic Sprouted 7 Grain Bread – Per slice this bread has 3 grams of fiber and 3 grams of protein. Also, sprouted grains are a lot easier on your digestive system.
Pepita salsa – This is a game-changer! I use it in bowls, eggs, and as a salad dressing. Pepitas are actually hulless pumpkin seeds, which is why I think it has such a nutty, good texture. It’s thicker than most salsas. You can add it to cottage cheese too!
Chickpeas – Recently I have been making teriyaki chickpeas and they are so good. I love having them already and then adding them to bowls, just snacking on them and smashing them and putting it on a cracker. I know people put them in the air fryer and they like to get a really crispy put some like maybe some powdered like Ranch on it that would be really good. One of my favorite lunches to use chickepeas with is my Chickpea Salad Wrap.
Organic Apple Cider Vinegar with the Mother – The “mother” is the cloudy sediment stuff you see floating or settled on the bottom.
High Fiber Cereal – If you follow me on Instagram you already know that I make these nightly loaded yogurt bowls like every single night without fail. Trader Joe’s high-fiber cereal is so much better than all of the other fiber cereals out there because it stays crunchy rather than getting soggy.
Rice Crumbs – These are a great gluten-free option especially when making meatballs in place of breadcrumbs.
Trader Joe’s Peanut Butter – It’s only peanuts and salt which is exactly what you want. I love the salt ratio in their brand. I have TONS of peanut butter recipes on my blog like Peanut Butter Banana Muffins (my most popular muffin recipe), Peanut Butter Snack Cake, Peanut Butter Blondies, Crunchy Peanut Butter Snack Balls, and Gluten-Free No-Bake Cookies with Peanut Butter!
Nutritional Yeast – If you eat this alone it does not have the cheesy flavor everyone claims, it’s just more of a savory flavor. My favorite thing is that it is loaded with B vitamins, so if you are vegan this is a great option to sneak those in. I put this in everything — pasta, pizza, burgers, vegetables, and eggs. Learn more about nutritional yeast.
Organic Tahini – I have been putting this in everything I make lately. I love Tahini blondies, speaking of which, I need to make those again. It’s literally made of sesame seeds, that’s it. That should be the only ingredient you see listed. Tahini is also great in Asian dishes, like my lazy girl stir fry.
Trader Joes Haul – Fridge Staples
Butter Lettuce – This is perfect if you find yourself being gassy and bloated from salad blends like kale. Even if you hate lettuce, give it a try! You will love it!
Green Goddess Salad Dressing – Many dressings use inflammatory oils where this one only has olive oil and extra virgin olive oil. Perfect for Mexican salad or a burrito bowl.
Kalamata Olive Hummus – If you don’t like olives, this is not for you, it definitely has an olive flavor. Try mixing up this hummus, cottage cheese, and a little hot sauce and dip your carrots in it, YUM!
Liquid Egg Whites – These pick up the flavors that you add to it similar to tofu, so great for adding in protein. Plus you can add some to your oatmeal to make it fluffier!
Coconut Creamer – Love this for my coffee!
Shredded Brussel Sprouts – Great for mixing in the butter lettuce as I mentioned before!
Trader Joes Haul – Freezer Staples
Cauliflower Gnocchi – If you have not tried this yet, it’s so good it even has its own hashtag! You can bake it, air fry, or cook in the skillet. Whatever you do, do not follow the instructions on the bag! Just let it thaw some, then spray your pan and let them cook for a few minutes. Then flip. I typically pair this with red sauce and cottage cheese or red sauce and veggies. For breakfast, I substitute gnocchi for potatoes, and it makes a nice hash with eggs.
Chicken Burgers – The best quick meal when you find yourself in a pinch. If you are a meat-eater, each patty has 19g of protein and they are delicious! You have to see these Chicken Burger Bowls!
Cauliflower rice – I just love cauliflower rice. Actually my favorite brand is from Publix, but I like this one too. If you are looking to cut some carbs, this is a great way. You can always make half rice and half cauliflower as well!
Jumbo cooked shrimp – A nice way to add protein and seafood into your diet. They are super easy to cook and thaw quickly, so great for weeknight meals. I also like putting them in a stir fry with the tahini sauce or in my peanut butter shrimp curry!
Oven Roasted Turkey – Not much to say other than I load it up on the Organic 7 Grain Sprouted Bread with toppings!
Raw chicken – They have organic free-range boneless skinless breasts and tenders. I use these when I make my gluten-free air fryer chicken tenders and crockpot fajita chicken.
I hope this helps the next time you are at trader joes! What are some of your favorites? Tag me on Instagram and let me know!
