If you know me at all you know I can live off of salad for lunches, but they are anything but boring!
The key to making easy and healthy salad recipes is switching things up. Changing out the protein, adding in fruits and nuts, and experimenting with dressings.
Lately, I have been finding ways to add in more tuna. The other week I made crockpot tuna noodle casserole, and it was delish!

Common FAQs
If you don’t drain the tuna well, sometimes after it sits it can become soggy and watery.
Greek yogurt is a great swap for mayo. For this recipe, if you don’t have mayo you can add a little extra yogurt or even some yellow mustard.

How Long Does Tuna Salad Last?
Properly stored, tuna salad will last for 3 to 5 days in the refrigerator. Tuna salad should be discarded if left out for more than 2 hours at room temperature.
It’s also important to keep it cool if you are serving tuna salad outdoors for a get-together. Be sure to keep it refrigerated until you are ready to serve.
I do not recommend freezing tuna salad.
Variations
- Swap the tuna out for leftover shredded chicken or turkey.
- Use Granny Smith apples for more of a tart flavor.
- Almonds can be used as well in place of walnuts. If you use almonds, the slivered ones work the best.
- If you don’t like the crunch of the celery, use a little celery seed instead so you can still have the flavor.

Should I rinse canned tuna before using it?
Rinsing the tuna before eating it can remove excess sodium. You can also opt for low-sodium canned tuna or tuna with no salt added for this tuna grape salad recipe.
